FELLOWSHIP DETAILS

Undergraduate college seniors, graduate students in their final year and recent graduates will be chosen in a rigorous application process starting Spring 2024.

Beginning in September, the Fellows will meet with Marcie Bloom and Dylan Leiner once a month. The monthly gatherings will include guests that range from leading independent directors, producers, actors, film critics, sales agents and distributors. Meetings are intended to be discussions that focus on emerging trends from every angle and guests are chosen that have unique and active perspectives on independent filmmaking. In addition, the fellows will gain insight on entering the film world and launching their own creative projects, be it as writers, directors or producers or another industry role.

Who Should Apply

Applicants should be interested in a career in film, whether writing, producing, directing, distribution, marketing or sales. Beyond that, and most importantly, they must have a natural curiosity about the film world in its entirety, regardless of their individual interests. The fellowship will serve their specific interests directly, so they must be dedicated and committed to the monthly meetings, as well as the support Marcie and the Fellowship team can provide. Commitment to monthly meetings, and attention to the work is of the utmost importance. Applicants should have a strong academic record, a notable passion for film, and strong recommendations from their respective departments.

Applicants should submit the linked application, two letters of recommendation (preferably from film professors or employers, but not restricted to), a school transcript and a resume.

Selected applicants will be interviewed throughout the SUMMER of 2024.
